I rarely post Journals anymore, much less anything like this. I never got involved in sitewide community drama, things over systems or changes. But with this I feel I must because this is my home, this is where I grew, suffered, learned, watched and more. To give you a preface I have not had a good day, I've lost 3-5 years worth of story details, Roleplays, unfinished stories or so. Adding to that many of my friends have vanished from the face of the internet without so much as a goodbye and worse I see a painful reminder pop up of approaching increase in the latter due to this. This issue does not lie in Ai art, it lies with Deviantart. It lies with their changes, it lies with the fact they have given us no choice in this By DEFAULT system, it lies with them trying to line their pockets. Damnatio memoriae "Condemnation\Damnation in memory" The act in which someone is erased from history as punishment. "Something's are best left forgotten" my ass. The Forgotten is a limbo, a place between and worse than Heaven and hell. It's a place not unlike the back of one's mind, a heap of garbage, the dark and rank hole things are thrown away in. People's desires, their souls, their selves, the different thoughts, feelings, legends, myths, spirits, gods and anything, everything and any and everyone that didn't fit into the dream world wrapped up in the shit ribbon of Merit. When Anarch, when Keith erases someone, it is not erasing their memory, it is not making them forgotten, it is the capital punishment, the ultimate destruction, their existence completely obliterated. No, they are not gone from the minds, they are not gone in memory in fact the public display or announcement of this act is in fact to cause the opposite. For what roundabout power is truly fitting someone who was forgotten.. yet survived and gained strength through their own existence.. Than a power to make sure someone is remembered in their complete erasure from existence itself?
